Every Alabama Student & Teacher
No other solution in the market today is providing equitable access by bringing together disparate educational technologies into a single-search application while also supporting LMS interoperability (Schoology, Google Classroom, Canvas), rostering (PowerSchool), and SSO (Clever, Classlink). The EBSCOed app within Schoology mirrors the single-search for each of the below integrations and will continue to grow throughout our engagement to ensure the greatest ROI for the State of Alabama as it relates to the educational investments the ALSDE is making in students, teachers, and families.
ALSDE is the first state department of education in the country to move beyond the off-the-shelf rostering and LMS solutions for digital instructional materials/textbooks to introduce a centralized content management solution that offers:
- Single-search functionality for all subjects and grades across all approved materials, learning & teaching resources, integrated library content and more
- Ability to customize to support professional development for teachers
- Ability to integrate communication tools for students, teachers, and parents
- Streamlined authentication
- Search by topic, grade level, and curriculum standard
- Desktop and mobile access
- Scalable at the state, LEA, and school levels
- Support specialized programs and student populations
- Support multiple languages

Automated Rostering & EdTech Tools Interoperability
Automated Rostering & EdTech Tools Interoperability provides unparalleled levels of automation and integration, reducing both onboarding of new materials as well as maintenance of digital licenses for the long term; getting new digital materials to students & teachers faster & ensuring equitable access is available to all Alabama schools, ultimately improving usage of quality instructional materials invested in by the ALSDE.
Student & teacher digital licenses are automatically provisioned via their SSO accounts on purchase, leveraging automated rostering to ensure real-time licensing – this means textbook licenses are automatically updated based on personal records in PowerSchool.
